Jim grew up in suburban Maryland outside of Washington DC, University of Maryland grad, awesome wife and business partner Becky, three wonderful kids (JD, Mike, and Tori), Sterling VA resident. Love being outside coaching sports, fishing and hunting, cooking and then eating a meal with family and friends.

How would you describe your personality in one sentence?
I work hard at maintaining a life balanced on what's most important.

What is your fantasy job?
Working with nice people who have needs I can help with and who value smart advice - Thankfully that describes my current job!

What are your wardrobe constants?
Ha!, I'm a lean 6'5" and a size 14 shoe. It's not easy.

What is the catchphrase you use the most?
God is Good!

Most humbling moment (lately)?
My son Mike asked to borrow my golf clubs (which I hadn't used in over three years), I said yes but lectured him a good long time on how to take care of them. We went together a week later to practice and I managed to ground the club of my driver, snap off the head, and send it flying 50 yards down the fairway. My frustration quickly turned to laughter as he and I shared the moment.

Becky grew up in Lexington, MA (remember the “Shot Heard Round the World”); graduated from the University of Maryland; been married to Jim for almost 30 years with three terrific children. I hate to go to the gym and I'm still waiting for the “high” athletes get from exercising. I go so I can eat Jim's cooking. I love to be outside walking, hiking, biking, and skiing. I work to travel (especially to the beach.)

How would you describe your personality in one sentence? Chatty. I'm friendly and once I get talking, I'm good for all night.

What is your fantasy job?
I used to want to be a ski instructor. Now I would like to write for a travel magazine.

What are your wardrobe constants?
I love all types of clothes, especially preppy sundresses.

What is the catchphrase you use the most?
Have a GREAT day!

Most humbling moment (lately)?
Hmmm, I think as a parent I am humbled almost daily. I also just tried yoga - while I was struggling to touch my toes I was peaking at the other people doing handstands! Guess I have a lot of work to do.

J. D. grew up in Sterling, Virginia and graduated from the College of William & Mary in 2017.  Before working at Birks Financial full-time, J. D. worked on federal government contracts in cybersecurity and software development with Booz Allen Hamilton and ManTech.  In addition to working at Birks Financial, J. D. is a Sergeant in the Virginia Army National Guard where he drills once a month in Leesburg, Virginia.  J. D. and his wife Aubrey live in Arlington, Virginia with their yellow lab Moose.  

What have you been up to lately?
In 2018 I decided to read every Pulitzer-prize winning biography of American presidents. So far I've read Truman's, Adams',  Washington's, Jackson's, and Teddy Roosevelt's. Currently I'm reading Grant's, and Lincoln's is up next.

What is your fantasy job?
Is it cheating to say this one?  I love learning, and by extension sharing what I know. My ideal retirement is one spent teaching, perhaps history or U.S. government in a high school.

What are your wardrobe constants?
Like President George H. W. Bush, I am a fan of 'fun' socks. If it is fashionable, someone else bought it for me.

What is the catchphrase you use the most?
In the wise words of Jocko Willink, "Good".

Most humbling moment (lately)?
Failing Ranger school. 

Tori grew up in Sterling, VA and graduated from Gardner-Webb University in 2021 where she played Division One lacrosse. When she is not assisting clients, she spends her time running, hiking, lifting weights, coaching, cooking and eating. Tori would describe herself as the perfect mix of her mom and dad- getting her love of the outdoors, cooking, and coaching from her dad, and her love for travel and fashion from her mom. 

How would you describe your personality in one sentence?
I would say I am a very determined person- whatever I set my mind to, I chase after!

What is your fantasy job?
Private yacht chef. What could be better than boating around the Mediterranean catching fresh fish and cooking it up?

What are your wardrobe constants?
Neutral colors paired with a fun color pop of from jewelry or shoes!

It is what it is!

I recently moved to a fourth-floor apartment with no elevator... and to think I consider myself an athlete!
